Game Four was a solid effort for the D-Backs as both the offense and defense played well. The team really came together as they beat the Cards 11-4.

First Inning

The first inning started with a bang with Seb Malespini and Nick Halkias singling to set the table. Adam Willametz brought them both home with a beautiful hit into center field.

On defense, Nick (on pitcher’s mound) grabbed a tapper and threw a nice one to Adam at first.

Second Inning

Things were quiet was quiet with no Diamondbacks reaching base during our ups in the 2nd.

The Cardinals scratched out two runs, but Adam made a nice unassisted out at first during the bottom of the inning.

Third Inning

The D-Backs answered back with 3 runs off the bats of Dylan Valenti, Seb, Nick, Brad Bednarcyzk, and Adam (another 2 RBIs).

Emma Hinchcliffe grabbed a roller for a nice unassisted play at first. And two batters later, Nick snared a popup at second and threw to Emma for a nice double play to end the inning.

Fourth Inning

Back on offense, Team Purple slapped four more singles from Tyler Ralph (a beauty into right field), Dylan Daniels (a powerful liner into right center), Tanner Bosse, and Dylan V for 2 more runs.

Dominating the defensive play during the 4th was Nick (at second) and Emma (at first). Nick grabbed two bounders and threw easily to Emma for 2 sweet outs in a row.

Fifth Inning

The D-Backs scored four more runs in the top of the fifth. Slamming singles were Nick, Brad, Adam, Tyler, and Dylan V.

Nick and Emma shared the highlights on the field again. Nick took an unassisted play at first, then Emma grabbed two straight from the pitcher’s mound and threw nicely to Nick for two more outs.

Sixth Inning

The D-Backs had more singles from Nick (a sweet shot into right center) and Brad, but we wouldn’t score any more runs.

The Cards got their ups for the last time but were held scoreless as well. Emma at pitcher mound and Adam at shortshop each threw nice ones to Nick at first.

In Sum

The defense was boosted by sure-handed Nick, Adam, and Emma who didn’t let much get by them today - great grabs and catches by all three. Nick, Brad, Adam, and Dylan Valenti lead the offense with three hits a piece as well. Nicely played by everyone.
